Family Reunion and Crown Center

This last week has been kind of hectic! On Saturday June 27th, my in-laws had their family reunion at Stocksdale Park. I finally met some of Sam's family I had never met before...and there is still plenty I still have not met!! This is a picture of just maybe 1% of the people who were there!!

Sara surprised us all (except Bruce and Candice) and flew in early and brought Mason. Isabella was SOOO excited to see her baby cousin!! She couldn't get enough of him!!

She just kept watching him and if his pacifier would fall out of his mouth she would try to put it back in. I REALLY hope she keeps this excitement up about babies for whenever Sam and I have another little one!!

It was SOO hot out there that they had a pool for all the kids to swim in. All the other kids had their bathing suits...but my daughter was the only one in her diaper only!! Oh boy...am I white trash or what?? She had a great time in the pool though!!

She was showing all the boys her muscles in this one...they really didn't care too much to see them though haha. They were just jealous that her muscles were so big!If you didn't think I was white trash before...here is the BIGGEST WT picture out there - but OH MY GOSH she was so stinkin' cute!! Playing in only her diaper with a hose!!! Got to love her!It was so hot outside that we took the little ones into the AC of the truck!! They loved it. Isabella loves to be in the front seat of cars any ways...Hopefully she keeps that mindset when she is 16!!When we got home she wanted to check all her vital signs to make sure she did not get overheated...Nope she's good :)
Yesterday Izzy and I went with the neighbors to go see the play U Bug Me! It was a play with humans dressed up as bugs and they would sing. They lasted almost a whole hour!! Isabella was fussy at first...but than the "cockroaches" were singing La Cocaracha (however you spell it) and she started to dance and clap. She did well until she fell off a step and started crying...at that point all the kids were pretty much done with sitting in a dark theater so we left a little early.

Here is the cutest expression on Owen's face!! He is adorable! Don't those blue eyes just pop?

Isabella loved playing with Hudson and Owen in the glass windows!! They would run up to the glass partitions and scare each other and run off...it was really funny! It is so neat how much they interact with each other now.

Some Summer Fun

So this summer has been so full of fun things and it is just beginning...Isabella has definitely been keeping me busy! I am loving every moment I have off with her! I never imagined that anybody could keep me entertained as much as she does.

On June 16th, we went over to see Isabella's friend Owen because he was getting ready to leave for vacation, and she can't go too long without seeing her Owen. Here are a few pictures...I think we are going to have to be very careful if we stay in the same neighborhood because they are either going to get along too well or always be fighting :).

Every time we go over to their house, Isabella and Owen fight over this toy...they both have to sit on it at the same time or else they try to push each other off...

I can't believe they already have inside jokes between them...they did not let Jennifer or me in on their little secret.

On June 20th, Sam and I took Isabella to the City Market downtown to meet up with Aunt Kristen and Uncle Alex. She had a great time and just loved to walk around and watch all the people. We had a good time too...but it was REALLY hot.

Father's Day we went over to my sister Stephanie's house to celebrate. It was fun to hang out with the family and celebrate my wonderful dad and Sam being a wonderful dad! I am a bad wife and did not even think to get a picture of Sam and Isabella together, and I don't have any of me with my dad...but hereis a picture of Isabella with her cousin Jacob and one of her favorite animals a "kittt" that says "MOW".

Afterwards, we went home and she pulled out all her books and toys, put herself in her storage bin and made me put all her books back on her...silly girl!

Isabella and I went with her cousins Jacob and Devon and Nana down to Crown Center...she is constantly wanting to be around them...it is super cute!

Isabella's 15 month Appointment

So I took Isabella to her pediatrician for her 15 month appointment...sorry folks no pictures this time - I can't manage a camera and a naked 15 month old at the same time running amok in the office haha.

So her vitals are: She weighs 22 pounds, 4 ounces - this places her in the 25-40th percentile - lower than last time. The doctor says since she was CONSTANTLY active during the whole visit that more than likely that is why she does not put on a lot of weight...plus she has always been on the thinner side like her mommy (HAHAHA thought I would put in something to make people laugh).

She is also very long - She is in the 75th percentile, measuring in at 31 3/4 inches...yep that is 4 1/4 inches shy of 3 feet...or I guess you could say 7 3/4 inches above 2 feet however you want to look at it :). Thought I would do the math for all you folks out there just in case you can't hahaha.

She is also developmentally on point with a 21 month old...okay it is based on the Denver Developmental tool and it is all completely subjective but hey I like to think it is based on complete fact!! Granted, one of the questions asked if she said 6 words and I said yes...She does it is just a matter of what you consider "words" exactly. She says "Dok" for dog, "dak" for duck, "bubble", "baby", "hi" clear as day, and "kitttt" for kitty. She also says "ball",and "bah" for bottle....so see...she says more than 6 words :). She also recently learned a new sentence "nighty night" - she lays down when she says it but of course she does not fall asleep. Those count right?? Not to mention "mama" and "dada". I know...my kids a GENIUS...I didn't have to tell you guys that right :).

So what do I need to work on for next time...she still gets a bottle - YES I KNOW! I am a bad mom...she knows how to drink out of a sippy cup and a straw but she just refuses to relax enough to go to sleep without her bottle. That is our goal before her 18 month appointment...get her COMPLETELY off the bottle. There could be worse right? She is down to 3 a day at least...that is 1 less than it was a week ago.

She needs to work on drinking out of a cup without a lid and not spilling a lot...she really doesn't spill that much...just chokes on it and gags, than spits it all back out :). She also can't kick a small ball (like the size of a tennis ball), at least I dont' think we have ever tried so I couldn't count her as doing that.

Oh ya, and she still sleeps in our room...in her crib at least!! That is something else we are going to hopefully have broken before our 18 month appointment. So the doctor doesn't know about that one...he doesn't have to right?? And it is perfectly normal to want to be close by just in case something happens... or is that just my crazy obsessive mind telling me it is okay when in reality it is completely insane?

She also got her 15 month immunizations and poor girl I swear her thigh is the size of a plum...it has swollen up so much!! I have never had that issue before. Hopefully it starts going down soon...it looks like she got bit by a very large spider. Lets hope next time that does not happen.

Adventures with the Neighbors

So this month has been full of fun with the neighbors and their kids. Isabella can't get enough of Owen and Hudson...Thank goodness we have people in our neighborhood for Izzy to play with!!

The 1st of June, Jennifer and I took Owen and Izzy to the City Park and let the kids play on the playground, swing, and play in the water sprays. Isabella loved it...

On June 12th, we took the kids to the neighborhood pool where they all had tons of fun...

And Owen trying to dive for the basketball....They were all obsessed with the basketball...and swam really well in the baby pool. All of them ended up getting their faces in the water due to slipping - and NONE of them cried about it! They are such big kids now!


After the pool we all went out to eat at Los Compas to help celebrate Sam's 28th birthday....where Sam had to wear a sombrero and got a free shot of tequila or something...not sure - he said it tasted like Missouri River Water...


Hudson got to wear the sombrero too...but don't worry kids - he did not get a shot to go along with it.

We cruised the square afterward...and of course my shopaholic daughter was pressing against all the store doors disappointed that no shop was open! That is all the adventures for now but stay tuned...there will lots more in store this summer!

Isabella's First Vacation

So this is my first time blogging. I figured I have been asked if I had a blog site, and always felt like a terrible mother since I did not blog about Isabella's life, so I thought I should start (even though Isabella is already 15 months old). My life is not all that interesting...but maybe people are interested in finding out Isabella's day to day activities haha.

So being a mom is great...I love every minute of it...except maybe the late night awakenings...the runny noses...the temper tantrums where she throws herself on her head and screams. Okay, I guess I love those moments too.

We recently went on a week long trip to South Carolina to see Sara and Dustin - we had a great time...went to the beach, spent a day in Savannah (just Sam and I - it was our "anniversary" celebration), spent a day in Charleston and saw Fort Sumter and Market Street, and even got to see our new nephew Mason...It was a great trip.

Some things I learned about Isabella from our recent trip to South Carolina....
She loves the beach...HATES the ocean...

She is definitely Sam's daughter...they have about the same attention span...sorry honey but it is true.

She is not afraid of anything....Yes that is a lobster tail, yes she did play with it and yes she loved it....PS she also likes shrimp, another reason she is like her daddy.

She is OBSESSED with babies...especially Cousin Mason...She constantly was saying "baby" and pointing and patting him. She was good with him but OOOH so jealous...whoever was holding him had to hold her at the same time. I like to think it is because she couldn't get away from Mason...but I highly doubt that....Also I think she thinks she has a baby in her belly now...cause ever since he came out of Sara's "stomach" (remember that is where they come from) she points to her belly button all the time!! I guess she is just too smart for her own good haha.

Finally, I learned that Isabella is growing WAY too fast...just look at her with her luggage - she is such a big girl already! I also realized that while it is nice to go away and take a vacation...it is also nice to be home! Now...when can we leave again?? :)
